This is a very nice sweet story, actually inspired by a real event. There are four characters in this tale. To begin with, Roberta, a painter, and Andre, a retired theoretical physicist; both are rather old and live in Paris, They meet in an art museum and become friends. Actually, their visits to various museums and art galleryes are organised by the “ Society of Arts and Sciences of Paris”. I would very much wish that such a society should actually exist, but at least to the best of my knowledge, it sadly does not. The two other characters in the story are Michel and Rene’, two youngsters, grandsons of Andre’. Together with their mother, Andre’ s daughter, and their Italian father, they live in Rome. Although only about ten years old, the older brother Michel is already a gifted painter. And Rene’ draws too. Periodically, together with their mother, they come to Paris. Andre’ would have liked his grandsons to meet Roberta, unfortunately she is quite sick. She is in bed and her iliness might be contagious. So, Michel and Rene’ can only communicate with her by vocal messages and internet. A very warm friendship at a distance develops between Roberta and the two young boys. And unfortunately her health status continues to get worst and worst. Then there is an exhibit for young painters in an important art gallery in Montmartre. And there, a prize for his work will be given to Michel. At this point occurs a little miracle. When Roberta hears this news, then all of a sudden she feels much better, and she is able to come to the exhibit. So, finally, she can meet the two boys. This is a very moving scene, and when I first read it, then tears of emotion came to my eyes.
