    Perfection

    I started reading this book with such high expectations as Song of Achilles is one of my favorite books. I am so glad that it did not disappoint. The writing style is so poetic and yet it doesn't feel forced, the characters are so complex and alive. I feel like the best way to describe this book is in a simple word: womanhood. Despite being a goddess, a witch, a titan, Circe feels more human than anything. The way every wave of emotions was described hit so close to home, it felt real, because it is. Female rage at its finest and I loved every second of it. I genuinely can't wait to read more of Madeline Miller's books, she truly has my heart

Madeline Miller

Ha un dottorato in lettere classiche alla Brown University e ha insegnato drammaturgia e adattamento teatrale dei testi antichi a Yale. Il suo primo romanzo, La canzone di Achille (Sonzogno, 2013), è stato un successo internazionale, ha vinto l’Orange Prize ed è stato tradotto in venticinque lingue. Pubblicato negli Stati Uniti e nel Regno Unito nel 2018, Circe (Sonzogno, 2019) ha scalato le classifiche dei libri più venduti del New York Times e del Sunday Times ed è stato “libro dell’anno” per le principali riviste letterarie americane.
