Garden Diaries

“Gardening is a primal thing, it connects us to a deeper history; reminds us of what we did hundreds of years ago when life was simpler” The garden is a place of solace, growth, and regeneration for Will Young. In this candid, personal account of his journey – from gardening with his family as a child, the loss of his twin brother, through spells of depression to a place of compassion and mental wellbeing – he recounts how time spent in his garden has always bolstered him. A truly passionate gardener, Will shares his tips on everything from growing tomatoes and composting to planting for wildlife and creating beautiful container displays. More than that he recounts how gardening grounds him, helps alleviate his anxiety and PTSD, and boosts his wellbeing. Forging a deep connection with nature – the soil, plants, and wildlife of the garden – heals him. Will Young has spent the last two decades at the forefront of pop after bursting onto the scene in 2002 as the original winner of Pop Idol.
