Nato in Australia nel 1977 e cresciuto in Irlanda del Nord, attualmente vive a Brooklyn, Tradotto in 30 Paesi, è uno degli illustratori per bambini più ricercati e apprezzati al mondo. In Italia con Zoolibri ha pubblicato: L'incredibile bimbo mangia libri (2009), Chi trova un pinguino... (2010 e 2014), Nei guai (2012), Gli Ughi e la maglia nuova (2012), Quest'alce è mio! (2013), Gli Ughi in Io non c'entro (2013), Come trovare una stella (2015), L'incredibile bimbo mangia libri(2015). Per Mondadori invece è uscito nel 2016 Fred l'amico immaginario, con Eoin Colfer; nello stesso anno è uscito anche per HarperCollins Publishers The day the crayons came home, con Daywalt Drew.
