Heritage

Tara opened her eyes and could feel his breath on the back of her neck and the warmth of his body touching hers. Her body still tingled from his touch. Her love for him was eternal. She could see the full moon lighting up the night sky and illuminating his bedroom. Her moments of pleasure and rapture quickly fading as she silently slid out of his arms. She could still feel the strength of his body, the intense way he had held her, the roughness of his touch that had excited her and the fire that he had caused more than just inside her soul. The night breeze blowing through the window blew her hair out of her eyes and cooled her skin. A tear ran down her cheek as her love for him overwhelmed her. She was torn between the right thing and her passion and love for him. A night she had never wanted to end, she now wanted to regret, but she didn't. Tara wanted to stop time and be in his arms forever, but the world was beginning to become real again way too quickly. He had always been hers, how did she lose him? She gently stroked his cheek and ran her fingers down the muscles of his arm before she slid on her dress and quietly slid out the door. She knew she couldn't bear to face him. She loved him too much to make him choose… again.
