Robert Bly

(Madison, Minnesota, 1926) poeta statunitense. Ha svolto un’incisiva attività di traduttore (Trakl, Jiménez, Neruda) e di militante a favore della giovane poesia sperimentale. Nelle sue raccolte Silenzio sui campi innevati (Silence in snowy fields, 1967, nt), Luce intorno al corpo (The light around the body, 1968, nt), Notizie dall’universo (News of the universe, 1980, nt), Poesie del mattino (Morning poems, 1997), La follia dell’impero: un libro di poesie contro la guerra in Iraq (The insanity of empire: a book of poems against the Iraq war, 2004) evoca, con linguaggio scarno e trasparente, visioni surreali di guerra e di morte irrompenti in un mondo di immagini e oggetti quotidiani.
