"Li Gieus de Robin et de Marion", come suona nella originale lingua d’oil usata nell’opera dei "trouvéres" come Adam de la Halle, è una pastourelle che da una parte proviene dalla tradizione della "chanson de geste", dall’altra fa tesoro delle conquiste della musica colta, sebbene senza mai assumerne le più alte sofisticazioni. La narrazione racconta in versi l’amore fra Robin e Marion, insidiato dall’intervento di un cavaliere che punta alla bella pastorella, in una cornice di danza e di festa, nel rispetto di giochi retorici e significati simbolici. Un ottimo lavoro degli interpreti del Tonus Peregrinus che, come succede affrontando questo repertorio, hanno dovuto ricostruire dalla notazione non mensurale delle fonti un’attendibile e seducente comparazione metrica con il testo.
