Josef Mengele
Josef Mengele is one of the most disturbing among of the protagonists of the Nazi madness. In fact, his name is sadly famous for the role he played in the Auschwitz extermination camp, where Mengele worked for 21 months as a doctor. Throughout that period Mengele, soon nicknamed "Angel of Death", transformed the Auschwitz hospital into a clinic of horrors. The unfortunate victims of the Nazi death camp were tortured with inhuman and terrifying experiments. The sadistic fury of "Doctor Death" showed itself above all towards children, dwarves, gypsies and, above all, the twins, the true obsession of the insane German doctor. But the story of Mengele continued even after the Second World War: the Angel of Death escaped first to Paraguay and then to Brazil, where he lived undisturbed until his death, which occurred from natural causes in 1979. Samuelson tries to answer the many questions of a human parable made up of terror and death: what happened to the secrets written by Mengele at Auschwitz? Who helped him escape and who protected him while he was on the run? Did his crazy experiments continue in South America too?
