Two parts in one volume, 4to (208x135 mm). [20], 218 [i.e. 222], 125, [1] leaves. With several errors in numbering. Collation: AA-BB12 a-z8 &8 [con]8 [rum]8 Aa8 Bb6 A10 B-O8 P12. Printer's device at the end. Colophon and register at l. P11r. Several woodcut diagrams in the text (ll. qr3, s1v, and s7v-t2r). Capital spaces with guide letters. Roman, Greek and italic types. Contemporary limp vellum with overlapping edges, inked title on spine (traces of ties, slightly soiled, edges worn). Ownership entries inked out on the front flyleaf and title page. Scattered worm tracks affecting several leaves but only occasionally touching the text, all in all a good, genuine copy with wide margins.

Second Giunta edition, a reprint of the 1515 edition with the addition of commentaries and notes by Pomponio Leto (1428-1498) and Filippo Beroaldo (1453-1505), of the corpus of writings by the so-called “Scriptores rei rusticae”, which include Marcus Terentius Varro (116-27 BC), Marcus Porcius Cato (234-149 BC), Lucius Iunius Moderatus Columella (fl. 1st cent.), and Rutilius Taurus Aemilianus Palladius (fl. 4th cent.). The text was edited by Niccolò Angeli. The edition includes a preface signed by Filippo Giunti, addressed to Francesco Vettori, as in the 1515 edition; a subject index by Niccolò Angeli; a reprint of the preface by Aldo Manuzio addressed to the reader; and a poem by Nicander “in correctoris laudem”.
