With "A Marital Coup… Plus-2", we are brought three works of female-led fiction on the theme of gender-warfare and marriages under pressure together with the power-exchange resulting from the friction. We open with our title story, "A Marital Coup", as Rafael Menton brings us the tale of a French wife who has had enough after being marginalised and neglected by the philandering husband she has given three lovely young daughters… A French wife who decides her husband is not the only one who can play around outside of their marriage… Or be overbearing! Next up is Gillian Ormendroyd's "Knowing His Place", and what happens when an older husband with film-star looks takes his younger, wealthier and accomplished CEO wife for granted with a number of illicit affairs. Nothing good, that's for sure. And certainly not for the cocksure but ultimately weak man who has just infuriated his wife's last nerve. We finish with "A Ruined Husband" by Amelia Bellfield, and the tale of an ill-advised but happily married man who, after being caught embezzling by his female boss, finds his life changing for the worse… And especially when his wife is brought into the mix… A mix that will see him locked into female-led marriage… And worse". Believable female-led fantasy fiction for the reader who enjoys the exercise of the imagination.
