A Murderous Misconception

The upcoming birth of a child is usually celebrated by all concerned, but not this time… Katie Bonner loses her lunch—literally—when her social media account serves up a shocking announcement. Her boyfriend Andy Rust's attractive assistant manager, Erikka Wiley, is bragging that she's pregnant, and apparently with Andy's child. Erikka's made it clear that she wants Katie and Andy to break up, flaunting her condition and telling everyone in Victoria Square who'll listen about her plans for the future. When Erikka turns up dead, the Sheriff's top murder investigator turns up the heat on Katie and Andy, certain that one of them is to blame for the death. But it turns out Erikka wasn't pregnant after all. Was Erikka's misconception the only way she could conceive of stealing Andy from Katie? When Katie finds planted evidence in her home, it's her friend and former Sheriff's detective, Ray Davenport, who insists on concealing it. Is it his growing affection for her that causes him to act against his training and code of ethics, or could he be the one responsible for Erikka's death? Katie is afraid to find out.
