Off-Ice Rules

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. Cal Brekke is a grumpy goalie on his fourth team in eleven years, and he has learned the hard way not to unpack. Della Ruiz is the sunshine who runs the ice at Kansas City's brand-new hockey arena. She says good morning to everyone, the ice included, and has never once asked anybody for anything. Then Cal loses a game and tells the cameras her ice is a swamp. Maybe whoever drives the machine could look down once in a while. Della fires back with one perfect line. It goes viral before the lights are even off. Now the whole city is picking sides, her bosses are nervous, his contract is in its final year, and one blurry photo from a very dark tunnel has the internet convinced the two enemies are secretly together. The team's publicist has a plan: pretend they are. Fake dating, just until the trade deadline, then a quiet, friendly goodbye. Della agrees on one condition. They write down the rules, five of them, and both sign. Rule one: nobody kisses anybody on her ice. Rule five: nobody gets attached. Between sunrise ice-making lessons, a Thanksgiving kiss in front of fifty thousand people, and Sunday dinner with her very suspicious dad, the rivals to lovers slow burn gets harder to tell from the real thing. Funny, warm, and told in both their voices, Off-Ice Rules is a standalone sports romance for anyone who loves a grumpy goalie, a stubborn ray of sunshine, and a love story that starts as a very bad idea.
