Race and Rurality: Considerations for Advancing Higher Education Equity

This book is the first to bring together diverse perspectives about a multitude of racially minoritized rural students and their experiences with and in higher education institutions. The co-editors of this text – and the chapter authors who contributed – are some of the leading scholars and practitioners around rurality and/or race and racism in higher education; they have produced numerous publications, received large grants, been hired as consultants, and created change within their spheres of influence. This book represents research, policy, and practice at colleges and universities across the United States, providing readers with a pulse for what is happening nationally and offering scalable ideas and actions that can be implemented locally.
