Reverse Proxy and Load Balancing
Your traffic has outgrown one server, and the front end that holds it together is a copied configuration nobody fully understands. This book gives you a design you can explain line by line. Through one worked example, a small online shop with three application servers and a pair of proxies, you learn how requests are routed by host and path, how servers share load in proportion to their strength, where to end encryption, and how to build health checks that catch real failures. You then add sensible timeouts, bounded retries, rate limits and caching, deploy without dropping requests, and remove the proxy as a single point of failure. Examples use nginx and HAProxy, with a Quick Reference, troubleshooting table and a failure drill to test your setup.
