Rebecca Macintosh has only returned to Bramley Hollow for holidays and short visits since she left more than a decade ago for university. But there was always something unfinished about this place. When Rebecca's beloved grandmother dies and leaves her McIntosh's Table, the cozy yet timeworn diner she came of age helping out in, along with the snug, memory-filled apartment above, Rebecca finds herself back in Bramley Hollow indefinitely. Shadows of the past linger in every creaking floorboard and weathered countertop, whispering stories of those who came before her. As the autumn wind rattles the windows, she wonders if the ghosts of her past are calling her home for good. But although Rebecca is grieving her grandmother and haunted by her past, being in Bramley Hollow feels like a breath of fresh air. But her funds are limited. She has just enough to fix up the diner for sale, then she'll have to head back to her life in the city. When she calls a local contracting business for help with the small diner renovation, her stomach tightens at the familiar voice on the other end: Cort Adams, the former football star and prom king, who she tutored in English to help him stay on the team. The moment he walks through the door of the diner and calls her 'Becca', she feels like she's seventeen again. Even all these years later, Cort still makes her heart race and her fantasies go into overdrive. But is the growing connection between them enough to keep Rebecca in Bramley Hollow for good?
