I've Got This!

Quentin Margolis always has exactly what he needs. A bandage before the scrape. The one trading card that wins the game. He never knows why he grabs things. He just knows to grab them. New in Guild River, Pennsylvania, Quent makes three friends fast: Jeffrey, the smartest kid in school; Henway, a professional snacker with a flair for doom; and Thom, the police chief's son. Then they hear the town legend. Fifty years ago four men robbed the Thunderville bank. Within a day three were dead, the fourth was arrested on a Guild River sidewalk, and the money was gone. Nobody has found it since. Their teacher dares them to do the case for a class project, but only if they uncover evidence nobody else ever found. The trail runs through: a missing microfiche reel of the old town newspaper a fifth gang member the police never caught a historian, a retired copy boy, and a coded clue hiding in plain sight strangers watching the boys from across the park Add a school bully with Quent at the top of his list and someone who wants the loot far more than a good grade, and one strange talent may be the only thing standing between four boys and real trouble. A funny, fast-paced standalone mystery for readers 9 to 12 about friendship, courage, and finding exactly the right people.
