Yeah, Maybe...
Polly was a pro at second guessing her personal decisions. For instance, leaving her apartment for the first time after a break-up. Choosing not to shower beforehand, resulting in looking more like an extra in a zombie movie than a living, breathing human being. Or like running into her ex, Mr. You Deserve Better Than Me, and the perky chick clinging to his arm. Okay, that last one wasn't her decision, but the Universe could've warned her before she stepped outside at the butt ass crack of dawn without taking a little extra care with herself. She wasn't ready to see him. She apparently wasn't ready to do more than stare with too many unspoken thoughts running through her mind. After all, he couldn't leave the until the three people barring the exit moved. The fact that she was the prettiest mess he'd ever seen might've had a little something to do with it. Could also have been that she'd ordered more than one large coffee for herself and he was fascinated by a woman needing that much caffeine before eight in the morning. Helping her out and going home was all he'd planned to do. He hadn't planned to follow her to her home. He hadn't planned to engage in playful banter outside her building instead of leaving her on her own. And he really, really hadn't planned to fall head over heels the second his lips touched hers, but that's exactly what happened…
