Jerry Cole was an American guitarist who recorded under his own name, under pseudonyms and as an uncredited session musician. Cole first became famous with The Champs in 1958 and since then he never stopped working, either anonymously, or with the stars, from Phil Spector and The Byrds to Elvis Presley and The Beach Boys. Cole pulled together some L.A. session colleagues and cut his own psychedelic project, The Animated Egg, released on the Alshire label in 1967 under the auspices of producer-manager Paul Arnold. The ‘Animated Egg’ in a nutshell: “Dark melancholy grooves are interspersed by light danceable numbers featuring some very impressive material with extensive use of fuzz guitar and studio sound effects”.
