Emma Thompson

1959, Londra

Figlia d'arte (il padre è l'attore inglese Eric Thompson e la madre l'attrice scozzese Phyllida Law), frequenta il Newnham College a Cambridge, dove entra nel gruppo teatrale Cambridge Footlights insieme a Hugh Laurie e Stephen Fry.Da quel momento parte la sua strepitosa carriera d'attrice e sceneggiatrice, che l'ha portata anche alla vittoria al Premio Oscar.Vive tra Londra e la contea scozzese di Argyll. Ricorda che il padre leggeva spesso a lei e alla sorella le storie di Beatrix Potter. Anche per questo ha deciso di scriverne una di suo pugno, pubblicata in Italia da Sperling & Kupfer nel 2012: Un'altra storia di Peter coniglio.
