Dopo il loro debutto con l’album omonimo nel 2007, EXPLODING HEAD è il disco più importante dei Place To Bury Strangers.
Registrato presso il loro studio Death By Audio a New York nel 2009 è un album apprezzato per il suo suono esplosivo, che prende spunto da icone come Jesus & Mary Chain e My Bloody Valentine. Pitchfork.
L’album viene ripubblicato con audio rimasterizzato da Oliver Ackermann e presentato in 2 formati: 2CD deluxe e LP rosso trasparente.
È presente anche un booklet con una grafica ridisegnata e note di copertina del giornalista Tris McCall.
Le versioni deluxe includono tracce inedite, una cover di Bowie e una dei 13th Floor Elevators.
