Terry Deary

1946, Sunderland

Terry Deary è uno scrittore e attore britannico. Il padre di Terry (Billy) era un macellaio a Hendon, Sunderland, e la madre (Freda) era la direttrice di un negozio di abbigliamento. Da ragazzo ha lavorato per molti anni nella macelleria del padre: "Era meglio della scuola". Terry ha iniziato la sua carriera di attore professionista nel 1972, quando si è unito al Theatre Powys nel Mid-Wales. Ha fatto anche il regista teatrale, direttore di musei, insegnante di teatro, presentatore televisivo e (il suo lavoro preferito) cantante di musica country. Ma è soprattutto un autore per bambini con 335 libri di narrativa e saggistica pubblicati negli ultimi 45 anni, e oltre 36 milioni di copie vendute in 45 lingue.
