Grateful to the Norman Knight for restoring his home, O'Kelly promises him his daughter Rhiannon's hand in marriage, thus establishing that Cort will inherit his Irish kingdom. Rhiannon isn't happy to learn of the deal her father struck with Cort. Yet she understands why Moran has blessed their betrothal. Additionally, she realizes the Norman's military strength will protect the O'Kelly's landholdings.
