A Passion Play è il sesto album in studio dei Jethro Tull e venne pubblicato nel 1973. Come il suo predecessore, Thick as a Brick (1972), si tratta di un "concept album" e il tema è il viaggio spirituale di un uomo nella vita ultraterrena. L'album riscosse al momento della pubblicazione un certo successo in tutto il mondo, raggiungendo il 1° posto in classifica negli Stati Uniti e il 13° in Inghilterra.
Questa edizione comprende i 2 CD con ampliamenti rispetto alla versione originale dell'album, includendo anche le prime sessions di registrazione effettuate al Château d'Hérouville e mixate in surround 5.1 stereo da Steven Wilson. Il tutto è impreziosito da un booklet di 80 pagine con un'ampia presentazione di Martin Webb sulla preparazione e la registrazione dell'album e sulle sessioni Château che l'hanno preceduta. Contiene inoltre la descrizione di Steven Wilson sul mix effettuato sulle registrazioni, alcuni ricordi della ballerina Jane Eve (Colthorpe), di The Rev'd Godfrey Sardella ed infine la storia del tour del 1973.Il tutto è testimoniato dai 2 DVD allegati che contengono la clip stereo e video di The Story Of The Hare Who Lost His Spectacles, un'introduzione ed altri filmati che raccontano il tour del 1973. Il secondo è un DVD Audio, ed include The Château d'Hérouville Sessions mixed a 5.1 DTS e AC3 Dolby Digital surround sound e PCM 96/24 PCM stereo.
