Chilton wouldn’t spit on Rose Caldwell if she were on fire, but if anyone is going to figure out who turned Chilton into a crispy corpse, it will be the metaphysicist, Rose Caldwell. The case takes a turn when France’s death cult shows up, and Dolly is forced to work with the Necronists. They know who the murder is and are hell-bent on bringing the suspect back to France. Dolly suspects they want to find the murderer for other reasons than justice. More of London’s well to do are turned into lifeless husks while Rose and Dolly put the pieces together.
